Souk El Had, Agadir. One of Morocco’s best Souks

Situated in the sourthern side of Morocco, with its many hotels, and a very long promenade facing the sandy coast and its crystalline seas, Agadir has become one of the most popular destinations within the country. But not everything is beach and relax in Agadir. On the other side of the city one of the best, or at least one of the biggest, Souks in the country is to be found, the Souk el Had. With its +120.000 sqm and 6.000+ shops inside, you can just get lost inside its many streets and stores and get immersed in the colorful mixes of spices, with its delightful aromas. There is no way you won’t fall in love with the place and find what you are looking for.

Agadir, Spices

Its name would translate to “Sunday Market”, although you must not worry, the Souk is open every day excepting Mondays, 6AM-8:30PM. It is recommended to go on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays, as during weekends the place can get packed with people, making the experience stressing and less enjoyable, also, the shoppers will have more time to attend you, which translates to better dealing and final prices! 😉

Sunday – 6AM-8:30PM

Monday – Closed

Tuesday – 6AM-8:30PM

Wednesday – 6AM-8:30PM

Thursday – 6AM-8:30PM

Friday – 6AM-8:30PM

Saturday – 6AM-8:30PM

Why did we not recommend Friday? Friday is the “Prayer day” and many stalls will close at midday for about 2 to 3 hours.

Agadir, Souk

If you are thinking to travel to this wonderful place, why not doing it with us? We have the Blue Sea Hotel Le Tivoli 4* situated only a 25min walk away from the Souk and less than 5 minutes away from the promenade, so you will find there your perfect base for a wonderful trip. No matter what type of tourist you are, a sun-seeker or an adventurer, we have the place you need.
